e-couch was developed by the e-hub team at the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research. The group is recognised as an international leader in the development and evaluation of depression and anxiety-based websites.
The group's previous websites have been widely used by the public and shown to reduce symptoms of depression in users:
MoodGYM is a site developed in 2001 by the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research. It provides cognitive behaviour therapy for depression through an e-training program.
MoodGYM has been evaluated in scientific trials which show that the use of two or more modules by users is associated with significant reductions in depression and anxiety symptoms. These reductions have been found to be sustained after 12 months.
The MoodGYM program has received a number of IT and health awards. More than 200,000 users worldwide have used the program.
BluePages is a site developed in 2001 by the ANU Centre for Mental Health Research. It provides accurate and scientifically supported information about medical, psychological and lifestyle treatments for depression; the resources available for help with depression; and tools to assist in finding depression related information.
BluePages has been evaluated in scientific trials and has been found to significantly reduce symptoms of depression in users. This symptom reduction has been found to be sustained after 12 months.
The BluePages program has received a number of awards.
